A digital memorial is an online remembrance space devoted to a particular person who has died, where family and friends can keep photographs, the life story and audio and video recordings. Every memorial is available through a unique web address and also through a physical QR code placed on the headstone. Simply scan the QR code with a smartphone and the whole memorial appears immediately – with no need to install any app. Stopy v srdci works as a digital bridge between the physical grave and rich remembrance content that would otherwise be lost with time.

A QR code for a grave is a glass plaque with a unique engraved code, which is attached to the headstone. Any visitor to the cemetery can scan it with a smartphone and immediately reach a page with photographs, the story and memories of the person who has died. Thanks to the QR code, the headstone becomes a gateway to a full digital memorial. It is a way of connecting a traditional place of remembrance with a modern way of preserving memories and stories for the generations to come.

Stopy v srdci makes it possible to create a complete digital remembrance profile of the person who has died, containing photographs, text, audio and video recordings and even an AI animation of the portrait. All the data is stored securely on servers for 10 years from activation – the memories therefore stay available to family, friends and future generations. The memorial can be added to with new photographs and memories at any time. Unlike a physical headstone, where there is room only for a name and dates, a digital memorial offers space for a person's whole life story.

Yes – Stopy v srdci makes it possible to create a memorial in advance, where a person prepares their own digital legacy for those close to them. Such a memorial can remain private until the family decides to publish it. It is a form of care for your loved ones – you spare them a difficult task at a time of grief and at the same time you know that your story will be preserved exactly as you wish.

Up to 18 photographs with individual captions can be uploaded to a memorial, along with an unlimited biographical text, an audio recording, a video from the life of the person who has died and an AI animation of the portrait created with D-ID technology. The memorial also shows the exact GPS coordinates of the grave with navigation straight to the spot. All the content can be edited at any time after activation – nothing is locked or restricted.

Every memorial holds up to 18 photographs, and each one can have a caption of up to 500 characters. The photographs are shown in an elegant film-strip gallery with the option of enlarging them. We recommend uploading photographs from different periods of life – childhood, youth, family – so that the memorial tells a real life story.

The memorial is managed by the account holder, who has the sign-in details. These can be passed on to other family members, so that everyone who knows the sign-in details can edit and add to the memorial. We do not limit the number of people who share the account in any way. The memorial itself is publicly accessible to anyone who scans the QR code or enters its address.

An AI animation is a short video created with D-ID technology, which turns a portrait of the person who has died into gentle, natural movement – a turn of the head, a blink. The animation is created directly in the memorial editor from an uploaded photograph and the result is saved as a video. It is a sensitive way of bringing the memory closer, especially to younger generations. The animation can be removed or replaced at any time.

The glass plaque with the engraved QR code measures 61 × 61 mm and comes with industrial 3M VHB 4991B adhesive already applied, which is resistant to damp, frost and UV radiation. It is simply stuck to the cleaned surface of the headstone, urn or memorial bench – with no drilling and no special tools. The engraved design will not fade even after years outdoors. We deliver throughout the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland.

No – any smartphone or tablet with a camera is enough to scan the QR code. There is no app to download and no registration needed. The camera recognises the QR code automatically and the memorial opens straight away in the browser. It works simply even for older people or for visitors to the cemetery who have never come across the service before.

The memorial does not depend on the physical plaque – it exists independently at its own web address and is fully available even without the QR code, through a direct link or a search engine. If the plaque is lost or damaged, a duplicate can be ordered that will contain the same code and work exactly like the original. The memorial data remains stored in full for the whole period of validity of the service.

Every memorial – whether the first, the third or any further one – costs 499 Kč for 10 years, that is exactly 49.90 Kč a year. That is less than a single candle lit at a grave. The activation price includes the glass plaque with the engraved QR code, space on the server and all the features without restriction. No annual fees, no subscription, no hidden costs – you pay once and the memorial works for 10 years.

We chose the one-off model deliberately – the bereaved family deserves peace of mind, without worrying that next year they might forget to pay and the memorial would disappear. An annual subscription would be inappropriate for content of this kind. After 10 years we will send a reminder with the option of extending, but nothing happens automatically without your knowledge.

Yes – Stopy v srdci offers a 60-day trial period completely free, with no payment card and no commitment whatsoever. During the trial you can create a full memorial with all its features and see for yourself how it looks and works. The glass plaque is made and dispatched only after activation. If you decide to activate, the memorial carries on directly from the content you have prepared – you do not have to create anything again.

Before the validity ends we will notify you by e-mail with the option of extending at a reduced price. If it is not extended, the memorial is deactivated and stops being publicly available. The data is kept for a further 12 months in case you decide to extend later. You will not lose anything without prior notice.

Yes – Stopy v srdci has a partner programme for funeral services, stonemasons, cemetery administrators and other businesses working with the bereaved. Partners can offer clients the activation of a memorial as part of their services on partner terms and manage several memorials in one place. Every memorial on Stopy v srdci can contain the exact GPS coordinates of the place of final rest. The person managing the memorial either enters them by hand or saves them with a single press of a button right at the grave during a visit to the cemetery. Anyone viewing the memorial then sees a Navigate to the grave button – clicking it starts the built-in navigation, which brings them to the exact spot at the cemetery without having to download any app or know the grave plot number. This feature is especially appreciated by distant relatives or friends who do not know the cemetery.

Yes – every memorial is directly linked to the worldwide genealogical database MyHeritage. One click on a button in the memorial opens a MyHeritage page with the details of the person who has died already filled in – name, date and place of birth and death – and immediately shows search results in family trees and historical records. This integration makes it easy to follow the story of the person who has died into a deeper search of family history and ancestors. No manual registration and no retyping of details are needed.

Stopy v srdci includes an interactive map with a complete database of all burial grounds and cemeteries in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland – more than 26,000 locations in total. Every cemetery can be searched by region, district or municipality, its position shown on the map, and you can find out whether there are active digital memorials there. The map serves both the bereaved looking for a particular cemetery and those looking for the grave of ancestors or distant relatives. The database of cemeteries is updated continuously and is completely free and available without registration.
